In 1998,
Congress amended the Rehabilitation Act and strengthened
provisions covering access to information in the Federal sector
for people with disabilities. As amended, Section 508 of the
Rehabilitation Act requires access to the Federal government's
electronic and information technology. The law applies to all
Federal agencies when they develop, procure, maintain, or use
electronic and information technology. Federal agencies must
ensure that this technology is accessible to employees and the
public.
S&C
Advertising & Public Relations provides services to make
existing and new documents, presentations, web sites, etc.,
compliant with Section 508. We have created an entire web site
for a federal agency that was 508 compliant in both English and
Spanish. Smaller projects include large documents, small web
pages, PDFs, and charts and graphs and other documents that need
to be supplied to the federal government.
S&C tests
all of our work before providing it to the client, and supplies
a 508 complaint verification report along with a CD ROM with the
508 compliant materials. Please contact us for your specific
needs.
