Description:
Born in Puerto Rico, Earline Lagueruela is bilingual and bicultural. In
1976, Lagueruela became the first woman in San Antonio to form an advertising
firm. She has grown S&C from a one-person shop to a full-service
national bilingual communications firm. Her experience encompasses
every aspect of communications, including marketing, public relations,
advertising creation & placement, public outreach, media relations,
audio & video production, public information campaigns, new product
launches, E-marketing, E-commerce and Web design and content both in
English and Spanish.
Demonstrated Experience:
Lagueruela is
an expert in branding and creating memorable and effective communications
programs. These include: SC Johnson Wax Professional, where Lagueruela
was instrumental in the national advertising campaign of six new product launches, the U.S Department of Transportation,
creating the award-wining First National Work Zone Safety Public Information
Campaign, The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in creating “Wally
the Woodchuck” and the regional public outreach campaign
educating the public about unexploded bombs, and managing the creation
of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s Mexican
Truck Driver Educational and Outreach Program and Web site www.fmcsa.dot.gov/spanish
Lagueruela co-created
S&C’s proprietary technology WEBLEP™ which
can take text from one language to another at the touch of a click

Lagueruela teaches Media Coaching and Training on a regular basis to
commercial and government clients. She is an expert in Risk and
Crisis Communications. Her skills include strategic planning,
counseling and managing multiple projects simultaneously and effectively.
Other abilities include developing research studies, conducting bilingual
focus groups, conducting market research and creating marketing programs
and implementing new ideas.
Lagueruela has also worked
for international clients in Mexico and Latin America as well as in Asia.
She also helped launch the White House Office of Drug Control Policy’s National Hispanic Outreach campaign. This
included creating & producing ads suitable to distinct Hispanic audiences,
transcreating web content, brochures, press releases, fact sheets and
other campaign information from English to Spanish. It also
included writing opinion editorials and having them printed in the major
Hispanic newspapers.
Environmental and Stakeholder Experience
Lagueruela
has more than two decades of experience working with diverse groups
and stakeholders -- whether mainstream, Hispanic, African American
or other ethnic groups. Her skill is to facilitate, coordinate, and
communicate very complex issues with the general public, the media,
stakeholders, regulators, public officials, community leaders, activists,
etc. to achieve mutual understanding and support, in English and Spanish.
She has managed
Environmental Communications Programs on a national level since 1994. These
programs have included creating, managing, and/or facilitating Restoration
Advisory Boards in BRAC and FUDS sites. Other work performed included
public affairs support, creation of written and audio visual materials,
and strategic planning and counseling with clients. These have included
BRAC, FUDS, IRP, UXO, HTRW, Brownfields, Ranges, Environmental Justice,
Real Estate Development, Redevelopment and Zoning, as well as Water
and Power Utilities.
Current Affiliations
Lagueruela is Chair Emeritus of the University of Texas Health Science
Center at San Antonio School of Nursing Advisory Council. She
is a National Founding Member of Women Impacting Public Policy (WIPP),
which represents 500,000 women business owners. She’s also served
as Vice President PR for the San Antonio Women’s Hall of Fame
and National Association of Women Business Owners, SA Chapter. She
is a member of the San Antonio Advertising Agency Owners Association
and San Antonio Association of Hispanic Journalists.
Education:
Lagueruela
attended the University of Geneva, Switzerland and received her bachelor of arts
degree in Psychology from Manhattanville College, Westchester, New York. She
studied MBA Studies for Executives at Dartmouth College, NH.
